Coach Gary Bell
Gary was a 2001 graduate of Brick Township High School where he was a standout football player. He went on to serve honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 2003 until 2007, where he completed two tours of duty–Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom– and was honored with the Purple Heart.
From all the Marines that he stood along side, to his family and close friends, he was loyal to all the people that surrounded him. He was the type of guy who always had your back and would never leave you behind– no matter what the cost.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt and took both of his sons, 13 year old Riley and 7 year old Parker with him whenever and wherever he went. Never one to sit inside, he valued any opportunity to be outside near the water or walking through a line of trees. He had an electricfying presence when he was in the room. His laugh was infectious and his stories could entertain you for hours.
He was a beloved youth football coach for the Brick Dragons and was involved on all levels of play. He had an ability to inspire his players to not only believe in each other, but to believe in themselves. He touched more lives than he could have ever imagined. His passing has left an emptiness that can never be filled.
He is survived by his wife Jillian, his two boys Riley and Parker; A brotherhood of Marines he proudly served with; his parents Gary and Jody; his sisters, Rande, Jessica, Ashley and their husbands; his nieces and nephews, his godchildren Trevor, Reagan, Oliver and Austin, whom he cherished dearly and countless close friends. Though his voice is silent, his memory will live on in all of us.
